In the afternoon our students met their exchange students the first time in a traditional cafe´ in Khan el Khalili which is a huge oriental bazaar.

First class with Mohammed Hasan who is one of the most famous calligraphers od the arabic world. At this day the students experienced the system of the arabic alphabet. Their egyptian fellow students helped them to get used to the difficult writing with a quill and translated the explanation of Mr. Hassan.

In the morning was the Second class with Mohammed Hasan and in the afternoon my students and I present the Hochschule Ulm and our intercultural project ”type in motion” to the faculty members and students. But also the dean of Computer Science & Engineering and the head of Digital Media Campus showed up.

The student worked in mixed teams on the project and presented their first results in the afternoon. Further virtual meetings with their egytian fellow students on Skype were fixed.

Our egyptian partners will come to Ulm in the last week of the semester. The focus will be on the final production of our type in motion project but a touristic program won´t be miss out.
