Ulm University of Applied Sciences will open up its outstanding
teaching and infrastructure in the area of technology to people working in
technical jobs from April 2012. With the IHK Ulm, the Chamber of Industry
and Commerce, the University has chosen an experienced partner regarding
of continuous education. The creation of a joint academy for technology in
Ulm will help to bring down the barrier separating vocational and academic
continuous education. The courses and seminars are usually taught on
Friday evenings and on Saturdays, therefore they can be taken besides a
fulltime job. Most of the seminars take several weeks and cover the areas
of Mechatronics / Electronic Engineering / Mechanical Engineering,
Computer Science and Systems Engineering / Production Engineering /
Materials Science. This will be the academy’s contribution to the regional
knowledge and technology transfer. Yet another advantage is that the
courses are taught in modules, which will allow the students to transfer
the credits to a degree course they might take later. For further
