eBooks and eJournals

All eBooks and eJournals licenced by the library are freely accessible within the university's network, irrespective of the library's opening hours. To use the licenced material from outside the network (e.g. from home), the VPN Gateway has to be installed. You can find information about the VPN Gateway here.

OPAC to retrieve all the eBooks licenced by the university's library.

It offers the following eBooks:

Springer eBooks package "Technik und Informatik deutsch" including titles of the publishers Springer, Vieweg, Gabler und Teubner from 2007 onwards dealing with engineering and information technology,

Springer eBook package "Chemistry and Materials Science 2005-2008",

Springer eBook package "Medicine 2005-2008",

titles of the publishers Haufe, Hampp, Deutscher Fachverlag and Gabal dealing with economics,

titles of the NetLibrary eContent Collection (eBooks of various subjects and publishers),

Elsevier eBook package "Mathematics",

various eBooks of the publisher Elsevier,

various eBooks of the publisher Hanser (Hanser eLibrary),

IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology)eBooks dealing with renewable energies,

various dictionaries of the publisher Langenscheidt

and the currently activated eBooks of the Safari Books Online eBook pool (see below).

The titles of the Karger eBooks Collection 1997-2009 (medicine) are not yet included in the WebPAC. Access is provided by the following link

Safari Books Online

From a pool of more than 17.000 titles on information technology 50 books can be chosen.

The selection can be shifted. Please pick your favoured titles from the pool and and tell it to your librarian (bibliothek@hs-ulm.de). The requested titles will be activated as soon as possible.

Access is limited to three simultaneous users. Please log out correctly after using Safari Books Online to ensure, that this offer will be available to others.

Please note the

licence agreement.

The activated titles are included in our

OPAC, the webbased catalogue of our library (Please enter "Safari Books Online" into the search field).

paperc.de

Metasearch Interface, which covers more than 13000 interesting eBooks of more than 60 publishers. Books can be read for free, printing and download will be charged.

An one-off authentification (free of charge) is required.

These titles are not included in our WebPAC.

EZB Electronic journals library

The EZB offers online-access to fulltext articles of more than 15.000 journals.
