Mechatronics is an area of interdisciplinary expertise, combining
mechanical, electronic and information engineering. Since the 1980s the
term “Mechatronics” achieved acceptance worldwide and has become a
trademark for the interdisciplinary approach regarding development,
production and marketing of more or less intelligent products. The
conceptualisation within systems is outstanding in this area of
engineering. Instead of separately designing and prototyping the different
subsystems, everything is based on the interaction in one system. |
Medical Engineering is the interface between medicine and
engineering. It traditionally originates in Precision Engineering, and
Optics, which are the foundation of medical instrumentation. Today this
also includes areas like special electronics, sensor techniques, computer
science and material sciences. Furthermore ergonomic aspects have an
increased impact, which is reflected in industrial design. |
