Biostatical Methods





Learning objectives
By successful participation the following competences are acquired: The confounding influence which covariates can have to an analysis is understood and mastered analytically (stratification). The students can apply the most important procedures of multivariate analysis (regression, ANOVA) to real datasets, they can interpret and judge the output coming from SAS. For all treated methods of inferential statistics the students experience the corresponding SAS-procedures in the laboratory.

Content


Analysis of Categorical Data (Confounding, Mantel-Haenszel-Test, Relative Risk and Odds Ratio with SAS)


Linear Models: simple linear regression, multiple regression, model selection,


comparisons of groups, ANOVA-models (interaction), Analysis of Covariance.


Kruskal-Wallis-Test, multiple comparisons, Logistic Regression.


Computer Practice:


Introduction to SAS/Insight or SAS/Analyst


SAS/STAT (PROC TTEST, PROC FREQ, PROC UNIVARIATE, PROC GLM, PROC REG, PROC NPAR1WAY, PROC LOGISTIC)
