The degree course

The degree course Computer Engineering has been introduced as a
diploma degree at the Ulm University in 1970, and it was the first of its
kind in the Federal Republic of Germany. This means we have been teaching
Computer Engineers very successfully for more than 30 years. |
Since the winter semester 2004/05 students have been graduating with
a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Engineering from Ulm University
after six semesters. The Bachelor’s degree enables you to apply for a job,
and with satisfactory grades it will also qualify you for a Master’s
degree, for example a Master in Information Systems, which the faculty for
Computer Science at the Ulm University first offered in 2007. |
The Master is a further qualification, which you will graduate with
after three or four semesters. It is a further scientific qualification
and entitles you to apply for a PhD at a university. You can apply for a
Master’s degree course either straight after you graduated with your
Bachelor’s degree, or after you have gained professional experience. We
offer the Master degree course as fulltime or part time degree
course. |
The degree course Computer Engineering at the Ulm University is
characterised by a modern, solid, comprehensive, and application-oriented
education. We encourage the students to work in teams, and teach them to
think independently when they have to solve a problem. They are able to
orient themselves in an international environment, and therefore will
encounter a wide range of job opportunities. Co-operations with a lot of
universities abroad make it easier for the students to study
abroad. |
