Degree Structure

Beginning with the winter semester 2007/08 we started to offer a
kick-off-weekend for 1st year students of the
degree course Computer Engineering, in order for them to get to know the
other students and to help them to create teams. We are convinced this
helps to make the first steps at the university easier. |
In order to guarantee a practical education, almost all the lecture
modules are accompanied by classes taught in modern laboratories. |
We have also been carrying out an exchange for several days with a
partner university abroad for 4th semester
students, which is funded through study fees, since the winter semester
2007/08. This exchange also includes visits of relevant research
institutes and industrial companies. It will help the students to make
contacts abroad, in case they are interested in writing their final thesis
at one of these institutes or companies. |
 In the 5th and
6th semester the lecture modules will be
concentrated on the first half of the semester. This will allow the
students to carry out their fourteen-week-long practical project in the
5th semester and the bachelor thesis in the 6th
semester away from the Ulm University. The university explicitly
encourages the students to carry out the practical project and to write
their final thesis abroad. |
At the end of the degree course the students will write their
Bachelor’s thesis in order to proof that they are able to work
scientifically independent. |
The students will graduate from this degree course with a |
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer
Science |
