An agreement has been reached between Ulm University faculty of
Engineering and Ulm University of Applied Sciences faculty of Electrical
Engineering and Information Technology, which provides a joint integrated
course model which on completion of 10 semesters leads to a Master of
Science degree from Ulm University. For this purpose the courses at the
two Universities are closely inter-balanced and mutually coupled. Students
of the Bachelor Degree course, communications technology, industrial and
automotive electronics have access to relevant courses
at Ulm University and can graduate after a further 3 semesters.
Professors of the two universities have in close cooperation
created the following course sequence:
At the end of the sixth semester a recommendation will be made to
Ulm University for the Master’s Degree course based on good performance.
This entitles students to attend lectures at Ulm University of Applied
Sciences and also Ulm University during the seventh semester. Those at the
Ulm University of Applied Sciences will be recognised as compulsory
subjects. At the end of the seventh semester the student receives the
degree in Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) with special focus on a sound
professional qualification.
A good Bachelor degree entitles students to enter the second
semester of the relevant 4-semester Master’s Degree course at Ulm
University immediately. They will be registered at the University and can
attend theory-orientated lectures and workshops of the second and third
semesters. The forth semester is devoted to the Master dissertation which
students can choose to undertake either at Ulm University or Ulm
University of Applied Sciences. The certificate and Master’s Degree will
be issued by the Ulm University. The course for the Master of Science
(M.Sc.) lasts in total 10 semesters.
