The fields of information and telecommunications are considered to
be the motivating forces for innovation and growth in the middle and
long-term. With 750,000 employees, € 134 million turn-around and more than
€ 50 million in exports, they belong to the most important economic
branches in Germany. In the areas of technology such as mobile
communications, software engineering or microchip technology, Germany has
a very strong position in the international scene. |

In this respect the region of southern Germany offers attractive job
prospects. In Ulm alone a whole list of internationally-known firms can be
found in the aerospace industry, in microelectronics and in software
development. Furthermore attractive firms linked to the science park of
Ulm have need highly qualified workers in these fields. |

Thanks to the broad scope of course content currently available,
graduates will have excellent opportunities on the job market. Specialised
fields are, among others, digital supplying- and final product technology
in the field of mobile communication, data transmission over broadband
networks using fibreglass or satellite communication, navigation
technology and not least environment sensors, e.g. using radar sensors.
The fields of application covers near-research activity through planning,
system development and system integration as well as sales, customer
consultation and further education. Most importantly the main areas of
activity lie in the design of electronic circuits and software development
for new communication establishments. |
